German aviation company Lufthansa Technik has been commissioned to create a state-of-the-art VIP interior of a new ACJ320neo bizliner by an unnamed private customer. According to a report by Asian Aviation, the bizliner will move to a completion center next summer and should be ready to take to the skies by 2024. “We were able to convince the customer not only with our world-leading design, engineering and cabin completion expertise, but with a complete package of tailor-made services,” said Michael von Puttkamer, vice president of Special Aircraft Services at Lufthansa Technik when talking to Business Jet Interiors International. “We are the only company in the world that can offer such a comprehensive package for VIP aircraft from a single source.”

Lufthansa Technik was asked by the customer to design a VIP interior suitable for both private travels as well as for charter operations. The company will reportedly also obtain licenses for private and commercial flight operations. Created to meet the highest standards, the design of the cabin was developed in close cooperation with the customer with the conceptual renderings done in the company’s in-house design center in Hamburg, Germany. The owner requested a cabin with a large open entrance along with spacious lounge and office areas and a very private master bedroom.

Other requirements from the customer reportedly include a thoroughly advanced cabin kitted out with the latest inflight entertainment and communications system. The aircraft will have seating for 19 passengers and the customer specifically requested the cabin to function like a modern smart home. According to Lufthansa Technik, the interior will be equipped with several large screens, some of them retractable, and passengers will be able to effortlessly steam any content on them. One of the highlights of the cabin is its flexible layout which was an important requirement for it to support everything from regular private trips to charter to individual travel groups.

It is also reflected in the choice of luxurious yet durable interior materials. “With its flexible interior and a top-notch entertainment system, this aircraft will set completely new standards for narrow-body VIP cabins,” said Michael von Puttkamer. If everything goes to plan, the aircraft will be ready for its first flight in mid-2024 and will be the ninth ACJ320neo business jet in service.
